Cambodia's DPM SOK Chenda Sophea Engages in Key ASEAN Meetings Ahead of 43rd Summit

Jakarta - Phnom Penh, Cambodia - In anticipation of the 43rd ASEAN Summit and Related Summits set to take place in Jakarta, Deputy Prime Minister SOK Chenda Sophea, who also serves as the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, recently received a courtesy visit from Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, the Secretary-General of ASEAN. This encounter occurred on September 4, 2023.

During their meeting, Deputy Prime Minister SOK Chenda Sophea emphasized the paramount importance of advancing ASEAN's initiatives for community-building. This commitment aligns perfectly with the overarching vision of "ASEAN: One Community, One Destiny." The Secretary-General reaffirmed the ASEAN Secretariat's unwavering support for Cambodia and all member states in their collective efforts to realize the ASEAN Community Vision for 2025 and beyond.

On the same day, September 4, 2023, Deputy Prime Minister SOK Chenda Sophea, who concurrently serves as Cambodia's Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, played an active role in the ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting (AMM). This engagement is part of the crucial preparations leading up to the 43rd ASEAN Summit and Related Summits scheduled to be held in Jakarta.

Additionally, on the very same date, Deputy Prime Minister SOK Chenda Sophea took part in the 27th ASEAN Political-Security Community (APSC) Council Meeting held in Jakarta.
